The good and glorious character of Christ doesn’t need any bad news to magnify and highlight His pure goodness. But it makes so much more sense in our fallen state if you understand who we are in comparison to him. God is the very definition of goodness. Christ is that goodness manifest in flesh.
Charles Spurgeon said, “If you can sin and not weep over it, you are an heir of hell. If you can go into sin and afterwards feel satisfied to have done so, you are on the road to destruction.
